Is
the world of interior decorating ready to fall in love with its very own 'Suzy Q'? An aspiring young finance student from Oakville's Sheridan College certainly hopes so. In February, 19-year-old Suzy Cacic - aka Suzy Q - joined the world of interior decorating bloggers with the launch of Better Decorating Bible (www.betterdecoratingbible.com). In just nine months, she's attracted the attention of 6,000 readers, a number that continues to grow, she says. "I wanted to express myself, but I didn't know how," says Cacic, who started sewing her own "runway clothes" at the age of 11 and has been evolving into a fashion and design enthusiast ever since. "By starting a blog, I can connect with other people who have the same interests as me." She also talks about gardens and occasionally provides tips for do-it-yourselfers, including how to make a The Toronto Sun FRIDAY,OCTOBER 21 TO SUNDAY,OCTOBER 23,2011 19-year-old interior decorating/blogger Suzie Cacic - aka Suzie Q - recently redesigned her bedroom in her parents' home, giving it a very chic, French Regency feel.

To quickly update your home this fall, she suggests picking up a luxurious fur throw for your couch, using a fallcoloured shawl as a table runner, adding burnt orange or brown accent pillows for a punch of colour, or filling a centerpiece with pine cones and acorns. What's hot for 2012? According to Cacic, mirrored furniture remains "a big hit," along with what she refers to as ghost furniture, clear pieces that are good for small spaces, and animal prints. To fuel her ideas, Cacic spends her summers travelling abroad with her constant companion, a mini Schnauzer named Sophie. This past year she visited Austria's

Schönbrunn Palace and next year she intends to spend time in Croatia, London and Paris. Back at home, she remains a college student, studying finance with the hope of some day expanding her interior decorating blog into an on-line business. So far the majority of Cacic's followers are people in their late `20s who enjoy her unique blend of glamour and affordability. Will the world of interior decorating fall in love with Suzy Q like the famous song lyrics suggest? "I love doing it and my fans keep me going," says Cacic, who aspires to be a personality in the decorating world. "... To become an interior decorator, you just have to be born with a good eye."
