The Edmonton Sun n Saturday, May 5, 2012 Spring's to-do list Brenda Ruzycki Green Thumb The gardening season has kicked off to a great start. Rain or shine, one can get into their garden to take care of the 'to do' list. Start out by doing some stretching exercises, as you may discover some muscles that haven't been used since the last gardening season. Thereisstill time to catch up with pruning. 14 HOMES EXTRA The Edmonton Sun n Saturday, May 5, 2012 MARcycORnbluM Special to QMI Agency Sports fans have come to know Jennifer Hedger as the co-host of the evening edition of TSN's Sportscentre, but she has always had a love for sports. Hedger grew up in Lambeth, asmall town on the outskirts of London, Ont. She played all sports but leaned to basketball and skating on the ice rink her Dad made in the back yard. Unfortunately, she wasn't "good enough to make being an athlete a vocation," so she came up with another plan in high school. "I could still be closely involved with sports by being a sports broadcaster, and I loved public speaking and being in front of an audience. It seemed a perfect fit." She credits Michael Landsberg (host of TSN's Off The Record ) for getting her foot in the door. Voted by viewers as one of the top guests on that show, her career took off from there. Hedger has also caught the acting bug, appearing in The Lofters , a Canadian reality ...
